The Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) offers a new route to a Doctoral qualification designed specifically for experienced leaders in the private, public and third sectors. Unlike a traditional PhD, the DBA enables candidates to make a contribution to knowledge through the "novel application of theory" rather than the "development of new theory". The result is an enhanced capacity in thought leadership for organisational change, and greater preparedness for senior management and/or consultancy roles. BTEC will facilitate you in gaining admission to the right DBA programme from a UK university.
This programme consists of six modules. Five modules are 'facilitated' and one is the independent research thesis. All of the modules are compulsory. You will begin by developing your knowledge and skills in research methods, reflective practice, and research leadership and governance. When you have successfully completed the facilitated modules, you progress to the research thesis. The thesis will typically take a further two years to complete, although it may take a little more or less time depending on your own progress. The course will be delivered from the awarding university in the UK.
